02

Pick your orchestra

We will introduce you to the orchestras in the project. You then have the opportunity to select which orchestra you'd like to compose for, tailoring your craft to the unique requirements of that community orchestra.

02

work with the composer

We encourage you to work with the composer(s) to bring out the best in your orchestra.

03

compose an original piece and/or arrange 'a-major' work

Pun intended!

Once you have been accepted by an orchestra, you can choose to write either an original orchestral work of 10-12 minutes and/or an arrangement of a major orchestral work lasting 10-12 minutes for the specific community orchestra. You should aim to compose works that are accessible (ie playable and show knowledge of orchestral instruments) and have the potential to engage a wide audience.
P.s. it doesn't need to be in A-Major.
